Kev's Blog

My name is Kevin McNeil. I was born and raised in East New York section of Brooklyn and attended East New York High School which is currently Transit Tech now. I was a member of the prestigious break dancing group called the Brooklyn Street Dancers. I was not a dancer but a mouth piece of the group.  I was in charge of taking care of business  management and booking shows all over the tri state area.

The history of the Brooklyn Street Dancers started in the 1980’s in a center on Waverly place (between Fulton and Atlantic Ave) in Bedford Stuyvesant/Clinton Hills Brooklyn. Ironically most of the members of the rap group Junior Mafia were members of B.S.D. one time or another. I had the opportunity to see first hand the late Christopher Wallace aka Bigg Poppa /Biggie Smalls grow into a Hip Hop icon, early as I can remember I always loved to listen to rap music, this was a way for individuals to vent.  Now in my 40’s young (lol) I still have love for the music and culture. Some of the best entertainers came from the streets of Brooklyn. I'm very happy to have played a important part in the culture of Hip Hop.

And To the people who have showed me much love over the years “Much Love”! Now let’s save and teach the babies – Kevy  Kev
