About Us
The Educated
Voices of Hip
Hop is a 501 c3
not for profit
organization
founded by
members of
H.O.P. Soul
Powers Movement
a group of
activist and
artists.
Since it's
inception the
Educated Voices
has helped over
a thousand youth
in the tri-state
area.
The Educated
Voices of Hip
Hop is based on
three
suppositions.
First children
and youth in
urban settings
gather a large
body of positive
inner
experiences and
impressions
which may never
be put into
concepts or find
expressions: In
the
African American
Community,
for example,
Nancy Boyd-
Franklin has
listed strong
kinship bonds
and extended
family
relationships,
adaptability of
family roles,
high achievement
orientation, and
strong religious
orientation as
important
strength
experienced by
children and
youth
(Boyd-Franklin.
Black
Families in
therapy,
1989).
Promote the
importance of
our history to
show examples of
the many great
contributions
that were made
by our ancestors
from as far back
as possible to
present day.
This works to
install a
greater sense of
pride and
server's as a
basis for
continued
positive
behavior.
Educate,
Transform and
Empower.
